A KUB is a plain X-ray of the abdomen and pelvis most often used, in our practice, to evaluate for urinary stones.

KUB stands for kidney, ureter, and bladder describing the organs of interest in the urologists mind.  These X-rays are often used to evaluate for intestinal problems such as ileus or small bowel obstruction. These studies take little time to perform and require no special preparation or blood work prior.
